As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Gal. 6:10.

Some of life’s virtues that God expects of his children are these:

Remember to show Appreciation for the good God has done for you and what your fellow men do for you. You need to show gratitude for the Gift of life you still have to this day. If you fail to show appreciation for the good does for you, he will not answer your prayers as you desire.

As children of God, you must walk in Love. There are two dimensions of walking in God’s Love.

  1. One must make time for God.
  2. One must make sacrifices for the sake of God.

When in Love with someone, you make time to spend with each other. God desires the same kind of relationship with his children. When we spend time with God, we establish intimacy with God and build up a lot of power and fortitude as believers.

We sacrifice our time, efforts and resources for the people we truly love. We must walk in the Love dimension of sacrifice for God and the things he loves.

  • God values his children.

Let us value one another. Do not despise your brethren. Have compassion on the needy and the helpless.

  • Have respect for Authority. 1 Timothy 2:2 admonishes us to pray for kings and all those in Authority. You cannot “kick against the prick”- meaning that you cannot destroy what has already been established by God. Be submissive to the authority of Jesus Christ.
  • Forgive on another. Have a forgiving spirit. In the New Year, do not carry over old grudges and resentments against your brethren. Drop it and clean your heart to receive of the goodness of God. The word says in Psalm 86:5 – That God is good and ready to forgive, plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon him.

Ephesians 4:32 – Forgive one another, even as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven you.

Hebrews 8: 12 – God says – For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.

1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he’s faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.

It is important not to forsake the assembly of believers. Fellowshipping with believers strengthens ones faith. Hebrews 10:25
