Divine Blessings: God Blesses those who care for the poor and needy.

Published on by Joseph Foray jnr.

Blessed is he who considers the poor: The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou will not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. Psalms 41:1-3.

The poor, you shall always have with you. Mark 14:7. so do them good and attract the divine favour of God.  The words of Jesus Christ.

The widows, orphans, the sick, the homeless, disabled, refugees, prisoners and accident victims are some of those who need to be blessed by our giving.

But when you make a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: And thou shall be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee (or pay you back): for thou shall be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. Luke 14:13-14.

We have the responsibility to take care of the poor. The focus of Christian life should be to help others; to be a blessing unto our fellow men.  To use our material things to help others and better their situation to the glory of God.

Pay attention not just to your own things but every man unto the things of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus…. Philippians 2:4-5.  A mind of selflessness, humility and service to God and mankind.

This is worth noting. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the Fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27.

“I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothed you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?”

“And the King will say, I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!” Matthew 25:36-46 (English Standard Version).

The Prisons Ministry is also the responsibility of the Church; the sick, maimed and destitute should attract the attention of Christians and our resources drawn to support these causes. It’s such a blessing to be a blessing to the poor, destitute and disadvantaged in our society.  That is Christ mission on earth. To draw all men unto him.

Whoever is generous or kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed. Proverbs 19:7. (ESV)

Never be slack about being a blessing to those in need. Your life will be refreshed and enlarged by God the Father.
