Seeking Divine Direction: A walk of Faith

 

Delivered by Elder Joseph Foray Snr, of Oforikrom Church of Christ(English Assembly), Kumasi, Ghana on the occasion of a six day fast and prayer program, -15th - 21st October, 2012.   Theme; Seeking Devine Direction.   

Text; Luke 5;4, 5....Launch out into the deep, and let down your net for a draught.......master, we've toiled all night and caught nothing, nevertheless at thy word i will let down the net.
 

If you seek devine direction, you must walk with God. Enoch is a great example in scripture. Genesis 5:24.......Enoch walked with God; and he was not; for God took him.

Conditions for seeking Devine Direction.

• Walking by Faith.

 Enoch walked by Faith and God paid attention to him. Gen. 5;24. Father Abraham walked in the steps of Faith. Romans 4:12. And Abraham being not weak in faith, cronsidered not his own body now dead, neither yet the deadeness of sarah's womb.....but was strong in faith, giving glory to God. Romans 4.19.  

 Ephesians 2.8....For by grace are we saved through faith. 2 Cor 5.7 For we walk by faith and not by sight. Walking by sight means living    according to physical feelings or mental reasoning.

• We must walk in the Spirit.

 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit. Romans 8.1,2
If any man be in christ, he is a new creation. 2 Cor. 5.17.
Ye are the temple of God and the spirit of God dwelleth in you.....1 Cor. 3. 16

John 6. 63 ...It is the spirit that quickeneth, the flesh profiteth nothing: The words that i speak to you, they are spirit and they are life.

• Walking in the Light

Walking in the light means walking and living in the truth of God's word.
 If we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another.....1 John 1.7.

The entrance of thy word giveth light. Psalm 119. 130.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.  Psalm 119. 105.   In seeking devine direction, we must walk in the light of God's word.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleans us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1.9

The Benefits of walking in devine direction.

• Devine protection.

1 Cronicles. 16.22....Touch not my annoited and do my prophets no harm.    And nothing shall by any means hurt you.

In righteousness shall thy be established.No weapon fashion against thee shall prosper.  Isaiah 54. 14-17.

Whoever touches you touches the apple of God's eye. Zachariah 2.8

• Supernatural abundance.

Luke 5. 1-6.....The miraculous happened when Simon keyed in to devine direction.....a multitude of fishes.

• Doing the Impossible

The tumbling down of the great walls of Jericho after it was compassed about 7 days. Hebrews 11. 30
